MI-6 Content Sharing — Prototype

The proposed replacement for MI doclets: a sharing feature built into MI-6. Documents keep their existing authoring flow and member-app publishing; a new share panel adds an access-controlled, branded content sharing site per document. Everything below is simulated — no real auth, data, or sends.

Doclets 2.0 — site builder

The standalone builder replacing MI doclets: list view of all doclets with status and gating, New → block editor, import-from-document, and a Publish & sharing drawer (Draft/Published + variable gating). Never publishes to the member app.

Edit Document + sharing drawer

The real MI-6 edit screen with the new sharing drawer: a three-way sharing choice (Off / Members can share / Share by link — mutually exclusive by design), four link gate modes, invite list with bulk add, a stable document-ID link, four templates, and previews. Desktop only, like MI-6 itself.

What a recipient sees

Opens with whatever is configured in the share panel — gate screen, then the content. Responsive: try it at phone and tablet widths.

The same document inside the member app — unchanged by this project, shown for side-by-side comparison.

Jump straight to a gate mode (overrides the share-panel setting for that visit)

1Direct accessNo gate. Straight to content; view counted anonymously. 2Collect emailAny email works — "your email is your password." Logged. 3PasswordPassword from the sender + email for the log. Default: summit-2026 4Invited emails / domainsMust match the invite list. Try anyone@worldbank.org (match) vs a gmail address (blocked).

Templates (same authoring vocabulary — heading, sub-heading, body, quote, lists, images — restyled per template)

ClassicToday's share-site language: dark hero, white content card, About World 50 sidebar. EditorialDoclet-inspired article: light page, serif body, pull-quote blocks. CalendarMember calendar doclet: ALL-CAPS sections, gray bands of date rows with RSVP links. DigestHuddle Highlights: branded banner, dated entries with auto-dividers, living document.

Archive (the road not taken — kept for the record)

Page builder on documents (archived)Explored the builder as an authoring mode on documents. Superseded 2026-09-11 by the standalone Doclets 2.0 tool — one artifact type per tool, no dual content model on documents.
Suggested walkthrough for stakeholders: open Edit Document and click Sharing… — the drawer opens. Note that the old "Shareable" checkbox is gone: sharing is now a three-way choice — Off, Members can share (zero configuration, standard site), or Share by link. Pick link mode, choose a gate and template, then Preview sharing site and pass the gate with any email. Note the "Access logged" indicator on the content — every gated view is captured (stored server-side; reporting lives outside MI-6). That's the whole pitch: doclet-level ease of sharing, with identity capture and one platform.
↺ Reset prototype state — restores the share panel's default settings.
